Dog Portraits

Commission a Dog Portrait – Honouring the presence of your beloved companion

In February 2025, I said goodbye to my 14-year-old dog.

When I finally gathered the courage to paint her, I didn’t want to simply recreate a photograph. I wanted to feel her again. So I connected with her energetically and allowed her energy to guide the brush.

The result was more than a likeness — it was her presence. Every time I look at that painting, I feel her spirit and warmth.

As an energy therapist, I work regularly with subtle connection and intuition. I bring that same grounded presence into each portrait I create.

These are not just paintings of dogs. They are portraits of relationship, memory and love.

I know first-hand how painful it is when the house feels quieter, when their footsteps are no longer there, when you reach out and they are not beside you. You miss their presence, their unwavering, unconditional love…

And sometimes, having something tangible — something that carries their essence — brings comfort in a way photographs cannot.

Celebrating Dogs Who Are With Us

I have been thinking for a long time that I would like a picture of our dogs. There are so many options: photographs, canvas prints from photos, etc. But none of them felt right. My sister paints, so recently I asked her if she would make a canvas portrait of them. And yes, that turned out to be the perfect solution. The paintings are beautful. They look exactly like my dogs. I can hardly wait to receive the artworks and hang them on the wall.
